Dr. Donald Mullen
Dr. Donald Mullen is one of three owner/partners of the Guilford Veterinary Hospital. Though a Connecticut native, he traveled to Pennsylvania for his higher education. He received his bachelor's degree from Allegheny College in Meadville, PA where he met his future wife Chris who is also a veterinarian.
Don's veterinary degree was earned at the University of Pennsylvania School for Veterinary medicine in Philadelphia. Following graduation in 1979, he was hired as an associate at the Guilford Veterinary Hospital, and has called it his home ever since. He became a partner in 1982.
Don's areas of special interest include general surgery and feline medicine.
In his leisure time, Don enjoys travel and is an avid birdwatcher. He can often be spotted around town with binoculars and Peterson guide in hand.
*****You may wonder why some veterinarians have a D.V.M. degree and others like Dr. Mullen have a V.M.D. degree. Dr. Mullen attended the University of Pennsylvania, School of Veterinary Medicine which gives Veterinary Medical Doctorate (VMD), whereas all other veterinary schools give Doctorates of Veterinary Medicine (DVM).*****
