Dr. Deborah Ackles
Dr. Ackles is one of three owner / partners of the Guilford Veterinary Hospital.
Having grown up in nearby Clinton, she has always called this area home. Attending McGill University
in Montreal after high school, she completed her B.S. in biology/chemistry at the University of Illinois.
She returned to Connecticut to work for Yale University's School of Medicine as a research assistant
developing new chemotherapy drugs. While there she began to pursue her life long desire to become a veterinarian and worked at the Guilford Veterinary Hospital part time. She attended Tufts University
School of Veterinary Medicine and after receiving her DVM in 1987 she returned to the Guilford Veterinary
Hospital to start her career.Debbie's professional interests include Ultrasonography, cardiology, and surgery. She is equally fond
of both canine and feline medicine.Outside of the profession her interests include cheering her husband on in the restoration of their
antique home, gardening, swimming and genealogy research. She also enjoys spending time with
her four dogs and three cats or sitting on the beach with a good mystery and watching the day go by.
